The Contact 3 Series SMT Placement Machines

The 3 Series of SMT placement machines represent a unique combination of performance and value. Both the 3SX and the 3Z are built on a rugged split axis platform with independent dual heads, and use vision centering exclusively. Both machines have a capacity for 100 8mm tape feeders, and can operate as a stand alone, or in an in-line configuration.

The Contact 3AVX

The Contact 3AVX place a full range of component types from small chip resistors and capacitors, to large, leaded integrated circuits. It uses vision centering exclusively, and is ideal for low to medium volume production. The 3AVX have field proven features like the robust split axis design, and comprehensive software that have made the 3 Series one of the best values on the market, and the choice of hundreds of companies worldwide. The maximum placement rate of the Contact 3AVX is 8,500 cph. The 3AVX uses DC servomotors on the X and Y-axes. The 3SX uses step motors.

The Contact 3SX places a full range of component types from small chip resistors and capacitors, to large, leaded integrated circuits, including fine pitch devices and BGA's. The Contact 3SX uses the same rugged platform as the 3AVX. Cost saving on the 3SX are realized by the use of micro stepper motors on all positioning axes.

It uses vision centering exclusively, and is ideal for low to medium volume production.
